11-Level Operation With Voltage-Balance Control of WE-Type Inverter Using Conventional and DE-SHE Techniques

This article presents an 11-level operation of the WE (Wee)-Type inverter. The topology employs a single DC-source, has reduced number components, and exhibits boosting capability. A voltage balancing algorithm is proposed where inverter’s redundant states are employed to maintain auxiliary DC-link voltage. It shown that with control algorithm, link preserved at half primary voltage, possible for any load. presented WE-type structure also compared recent structures lowest cost factor. Two modulation strategies verify inverter: first, modified nearest level (MNLC) usage both zero developed; and, second, selective harmonic elimination (SHE) employed, angles generated using differential evolution (DE) technique. maximum efficiency inverter 97.55 %. performance validated in MATLAB/Simulink on hardware-in-the-loop platform.
